About me

Viktorija Majore - singer, one of the best contemporary music performers in Latvia. She is the first and so far the only singer in Latvia to have been awarded a professional doctoral degree (D.Art) – at the end of 2025, she defended her research on extended vocal techniques in Latvian composers' chamber music (the text of the theoretical research is available on the right side of this page by clicking on the button Doctoral Research).

In 2021, she obtained a master's degree in opera singing with the highest marks in the class of Aira Rūrāne, head of the vocal department at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. Lelde Imanta Kalniņa's opera Spēlēju, dancoju (I Play, I Dance) is Viktorija's debut role at the Latvian National Opera. In December 2021, another opera by Im. Kalniņš, Matīss - kausu bajārs, premiered, in which she was entrusted with the only female role - that of Irēna. In March 2022, the artist returned to the LNOB, where she was entrusted with the role of Mother in G.K. Menotti's opera Amahl and the Night Visitors. In 2023, the artist made her debut as a soloist in the vocal-symphonic concert of the XXVII All-Latvian Song and Dance Festival at the Latvian National Opera, as well as participating in several concerts premiering works by Latvian composers in Latvia and Germany.

Viktorija regularly performs in Latvian concert halls and churches together with organists Diāna Jaunzeme-Portnaja and Aigars Reinis. The artist has participated in several Sigulda Opera Music Festival concerts, performing in both opening and gala concerts alongside internationally renowned musicians. A number of projects have also been realized within the framework of the JVLMA Opera Studio "Figaro." A special event in her career is her collaboration with the state choir Latvija and conductor Māris Sirmais. In 2023, the CD Credo was released, on which Viktorija performs the soprano solo part in R. Strauss' unforgettable Deutsche Motette. In the fall of 2024, she also collaborated for the first time with the orchestra Sinfonietta Riga and conductor Normunds Šnē. In September 2025, together with Māris Sirmais, she performed in another large-scale stage work – Tan Dun's Buddha's Passion, in which she was entrusted with two significant roles.

Viktorija won first place in Inese Galante's young talent competition and received a finalist diploma in Alīda Vāne's vocal competition in 2017. In addition to singing, the artist is passionate about playing the piano, which was recognized in 2016 with an award at the O. Zīvers Piano Competition and participation in an international piano festival. In 2024, she won second place diploma in the JVLMA Best Chamber Ensemble Competition.

Victoria's daily work involves voice-over and dubbing of films (her voice can be heard in various TV series, movies and feature films) and vocal pedagogy - for more than 10 years she has been teaching the basics of vocal art at her individual practice studio, but a year ago she joined the mixed choir "Ulbroka" as a vocal coach. In 2022, she created a vocal masterclass program, which has been introduced to a number of singers throughout Latvia.

The artist is also a regular guest on various Latvian Radio 3 Klasika programs (Orfeja auss with Orests Silabriedis, Post Factum with Inta Pīrāga, radio theater productions, etc.).
